It is a free plugin that you can install directly within WordPress plugins manager. It also has a premium plugin available for more advanced features

BEFORE YOU BEGIN MAKE A BACKUP:
Before adding a new plugin or updating old ones, it is always recommended that you make a complete backup of your website. Specifically the database. There is an excellent plugin called Updraft Plus for WordPress but there are other plugins also available AND if you are hosting your own website, your hosting provider should have a utility to create backups.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

 

NEXT…INSTALL THE PLUGIN:

  1. > In WordPress Admin –> Click on PLUGINS on the Left
  2. > On the top left click the button that says ADD PLUGIN or  when you roll your mouse over PLUGINS it will say Add New
  3. > Search for Woocommerce Packing Slips
  4. > It will bring up all plugins. Select the Woocommerce PDF Invoices and Packing Slips plugin and Click on INSTALL
  5. > Once installed, click on ACTIVATE

The plugin is now activated and you will now need to configure the settings.

CONFIGURE THE PLUGIN:

  1. > Roll your mouse over Woocommerce on the left side of your screen. You should see a new link called PDF Invoices. Click that.
  2. > Follow the configuration options on the first tab (watching the video is faster)
  3. > Select the next tab DOCUMENTS and enable both the Invoice AND Packing Slips. Each link has its own configuration options.
  4. Be sure to select the SAVE button at the bottom of the tabs page for each selection so that you can save the new edits you just added.

ALL DONE!

HOW TO USE THE WOOCOMMERCE PDF INVOICES AND PACKING SLIPS PLUGIN:

  1. > Roll your mouse over Woocommerce then select ORDERS
  2. > Select the ORDER that you would like to create a Packing Slip
  3. > Scroll down on the order and on the right side you will now see a button that says  PDF Packing Slip. Click that to create your packing slip then simply print this and place in your packaging.

If you are using Basic Shopify, Shopify or Advanced Shopify you will not be able to combine a discount code with free shipping.

 

There are numerous posts and requests on the Shopify Community website asking for this feature over the years but  still have not implemented this easy-to-use, and already built into most other eCommerce Platforms, function.

 

Shopify is excellent for eCommerce provided you do not need your website to perform too many advanced functions. If this is the case, you have four options.

 

1) Hire a Shopify Developer to potentially integrate your request. In some cases, the integration request will fall beyond the capability of the lower Shopify Plans.

For Instance, Shopify does not let you control the check out page and this is usually a deal killer for some merchants if they are aware of this at the beginning of a project. However, you can access and customize the rest of the pages, collection (category) pages as well as product pages and the cart, so this is usually the accepted solution with custom code workarounds for needed functionality.

 

2) Add Paid or Free Apps from https://apps.shopify.com. Shopify’s app community is extensive. Free apps will, in some cases, be able to perform your needed function but most of the time it boils down to a paid app and usually a subscription at that. So now, your little $29.95 website just became $9.95 or more and upwards of $$$$ more per month depending on how many paid apps you end up adding.

So, before you start a project, ask your developer (After Dark Grafx), if Shopify will perform all of your needed functions before proceeding with the platform. A few hundred thousand businesses can’t be wrong. Shopify is an excellent platform if it performs as you intend.

 

3) Move up to a Shopify Plus Plan. In this case the base monthly fees start at around $2,000/mo. Ouch! But as far as enterprise eCommerce Solutions go, this is actually an inexpensive price for the power that you receive. Unfortunately, this is a hefty leap from the cheaper Shopify Plans just for some functionality that may be best added via a paid app.

 

4) Move to another platform such as WooCommerce, Big Commerce, Miva, etc. If you are just starting out, this is easy but if you have an established business, processes and search engine placement within the search engines, moving to another platform could be a costly endeavor. Before taking this approach you should definitely contact us to understand what is needed to perform a migration to or from Shopify and the ramifications of doing so without expert help.

 

It all boils down to what you need it to do and the price.

Hosted Payment Pages - Converge Pay - Godaddy

How To Fix 500 Internal Server Error from a Hosted Payment Page on Godaddy Using Converge Pay from  Elevon

We are assuming that you have already implemented a hosted payment page with Converge Pay / Elevon.

This post does not explain how to create the hosted payment page, rather how to troubleshoot your payment page if you are getting a 500 Internal Server Error from your request once you try to make a payment.

 

Adding the IP address from your website/server is the first step by providing this IP address to Elevon / Converge Pay and then testing your payment page to see if it works. You will need to call their support to add it.  

Elevon / Converge Pay Support 800-377-3962 > option 2 > option 2 again.

 

You will need your Merchant ID. Tell them you are using hosted payment pages and need to add your IP to their system. Stay on the phone with them and test your page again once they add the IP.

 

We recently moved a client from our hosting services over to Godaddy. The hosted payment page worked on our servers but once we moved them to Godaddy we encountered the dreaded 500 Internal Server Error. This was weird because it worked on two prior server installations. So, initially we thought that Godaddy was the culprit.  Well, the error above indicated that Converge Pay / Elevon was not even receiving the request and that the IP was blocked on their end.

 

ConvergePay / Elevon requires that the ip address from the website be added to their firewall in order to allow the authorization for the user to use the hosted payment page solution. In theory, we should have just been able to add Godaddy’s shared ip address within cPanel but this did not work.

 

After spending several hours going back and forth between Elevon and Godaddy support services, we ended up just purchasing a dedicated IP address from Godaddy after one of their engineers recommended this solution.  We then contacted Elevon, they added the IP and … NOPE! Didn’t work.  You will definitely need a dedicated IP address no matter what hosting account you are on but the caveat is that Godaddy does not POST from the same IP address as your dedicated IP address when making calls to Elevon or other services.

In order to find a solution for this, the team over at Elevon finally said, upload a php file onto the Godaddy account and use this URL (below) to see what the actual IP is that is posting to the hosted payment pages.

We created this simple script that you can upload to your Godaddy hosting account that will tell you exactly what the posting IP address is. And… WHALA!  Different IP address than our dedicated IP given to us from Godaddy.

Well, we contacted Elevon and added this new IP to their system and BINGO…. IT WORKS!

Of course make sure that your hosted payment page URLS are correct as below:

Live Site Session Token Request — https://api.convergepay.com/hosted-payments/transaction_token

 

Live Site Redirect Request (Once Session Token is Retrieved) https://api.convergepay.com/hosted-payments/

 

Also, make sure that your Elevon / ConvergePay user has API permissions within their system.

 

Lastly, if you are using an include or other file to include the access permissions and still having issues, add a few letters to the PIN and try the transaction again.  At this time, Elevon / ConvergePay will be able to see the failed PIN attempt. Then change the merchantUserID to something different and send another request. Lastly, change everything back to what it is supposed to be for the correct authorization.  Basically, Elevon / ConvergePay is caching the requested credentials and sometimes it puts the merchantID in as the merchantUserID as well, so doing the above will “kick it” so it sees the correct credentials.

Hope this helps anyone else out there looking for a solution as I could not find one online.

Copy the text, open a text editor like Notepad, Paste this code, Save the file as   myip.php then upload this file to your public (web) folder so that you can access it at  www.YOUR-DOMAIN.com/myip.php          It will fetch the ip from the server performing the post for the hosted payment page.
